An upload-and-analyze workflow describes a document review process where a user uploads project files drawings, specs, submittals into a system that then automatically processes and extracts relevant information, rather than requiring manual entry or line-by-line human review as the primary method of getting information out of those documents.
This workflow has become the standard entry point for a lot of AI-assisted construction document tools, largely because it fits naturally into how project teams already work documents get uploaded to a platform for storage and distribution anyway, and adding automated analysis at that same upload step doesn’t require changing existing habits significantly, just extending what already happens when a file gets added to the system.
